An exceptional and rare Helvetia wristwatch from the 1940s, featuring an impressive oversized 40mm chrome-plated case with a stainless steel caseback.
The watch features a beautiful original two-tone dial with applied Breguet numerals, elegant blued steel hands and a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock.
While most oversized Helvetia watches from this period were intended for military use, this example represents a much rarer civilian execution.
Powered by a manual-winding movement, this distinctive timepiece is a wonderful example of oversized civilian watchmaking from the 1940s, combining elegant design with remarkable proportions.
