A very attractive early Rolex Datejust reference 6305/1, dating to approximately 1955.
This example features an original grené dial with beautiful, even patina and correctly aged radium lume plots. The dial is signed “Datejust” in red, a desirable early detail seen on mid-1950s pieces.
The watch is housed in the characteristic “Ovettone” case (also often referred to as a “Big Bubbleback”), known for its thick, rounded caseback profile, paired with a sharp white gold fluted bezel.
Fitted with a roulette date wheel, alternating between red and black numerals — a classic and sought-after feature of this period.
The watch remains in honest, original condition with a strong case and an untouched dial showing natural aging.
